i have the paint on him finished! ... turned out ok i think, esp for the limited amount of time i spent actually painting it and it being the largest mini i have done to this day. (RL kept me from posting it up till now sadly) 

The only thing that is different on it from these photo's is i put a matte varnish over the armor parts to dull them down some more .. and some crackle paint along the base with a tan tint to finish it off.

i aquired this rhino, which has a few miles on it several years ago from another 40k player. At the time i did not do much with it other then place it on the table when i needed one... 

one owner had sprayed it blue with a paint that stained the plastic .. and then another hit it with grey automotive primer... 

i pulled it out and dusted it off a few weeks ago .. and started giving it baths in simple green to remove as much as i could, but some of it was very stubborn. So it was then that i decided it would just have a worn and used look to its new paintjob.

I picked up this mini from a friend and could not wait to paint it.

i started with a black primer, and then painted the recessed areas with purple before painting the skin with a dark blue. once that was dried i started with the same blue and added a little green to it to start drybrushing the skin, so far i have 5 layers on it .. each layer i added a little more green, and then the last two a bit more white with each pass. I will finish off the skin with a light drybrush of just green next before inking it in a sepia ink.

I am starting up an Iron Warriors army and collecting bits from various sources to make them look how i have them pictured (mech arms and legs and non GW bits here and there as well)

In the meantime i am painting up the chaos contents of Dark Vengeance to the color scheme i plan on using for the rest of the army, mostly as a test to see if i need to make any changes and such before getting to the actual minis. 

Here is the Hellbrute in his completed stage.

This is a piece that i had stuck in my head for a while, and finally got around to making it come to life. The mini still needs a little more detailing and work on the base but i am overall happy with how he turned out. The upper torso and arms are from a Daemon Prince and then random ork bits along with a custom made lower half to fill out his look.
